For many riders, a RAM mount is the right place to start. For a fixed, vehicle-dedicated install, the ATP Universal Mounting Plate is the next step.
This is a 6061-T6 anodized aluminum locking security platform — the same mount included in the Pro Pack and Honda Talon Kit — sold standalone for two specific situations: upgrading a Starter Kit to a permanent installation, or expanding to a second vehicle without buying a full kit again.
Why $240 for a Mount
The price is the first question. Here’s the honest answer.
The ATP mount is machined from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum — the same material used in aerospace and high-end aftermarket vehicle hardware. It’s anodized for corrosion resistance, which matters when your mount lives on an open-cab UTV exposed to mud, dust, rain, and UV year-round.
It includes a barrel-key locking mechanism that physically secures your navigation system to the mounting hardware. On an open-cab ATV or UTV, an unsecured device walks away at trailheads and staging areas. This lock exists because the hardware is in an exposed theft-risk environment, and the expensive problem is not the mount—it is replacing a $799–$949 navigation system that was never truly secured.
The AMPS pattern interface is compatible with RAM Mounts and most major aftermarket off-road mounting systems utilizing the AMPS pattern — meaning it works with hardware you may already.
RAM mounts offer flexibility. This platform was built for riders who want a more secure, vehicle-dedicated installation.
What’s In the Box
- 1 ATP Locking Universal Mounting Plate (AMPS pattern)
- 2 Barrel Keys
Note on hardware: The mounting plate attaches to your vehicle via Mounts or compatible hardware utilizing the AMPS pattern — not included in this package. If you’re building a complete install from a Starter Kit, you’ll also need a RAM bar mount or strap clamp, a RAM short arm, and a RAM ball-to-AMPS adapter. Contact us if you have questions about what hardware your vehicle needs. (See also: confirming whether ATP sells RAM components separately — Item 1 in Brian confirmation list below.)
Two Reasons to Buy This Standalone
Reason 1: You have the Starter Kit and want a permanent installation.
The Starter Kit includes the navigation system without mounting hardware — by design, for buyers who want to evaluate the system first or already have a mount solution. Once you’re ready for a permanent, secured install, the mounting plate + a hardwire Power Supply is the upgrade path. Add RAM bar mount hardware for your specific vehicle and you have the same complete system as the Pro Pack.
Reason 2: You have the Pro Pack and want a second vehicle setup.
Your Pro Pack’s RAM hardware and locking plate stay in your primary rig. For a second vehicle — a Jeep, a second UTV, a motorcycle — you need a new mounting plate plus a hardwire Power Supply. Add both to your cart and your navigation system moves between vehicles in seconds.
Compatible Vehicles
The AMPS pattern interface is compatible with virtually any powersports or off-road vehicle where a RAM mount point can be installed:
- Side-by-sides and UTVs (roll cage tube mounts)
- ATVs (handlebar mounts)
- Jeeps and overland vehicles (roll bar, dash, or A-pillar mounts)
- Adventure motorcycles and dual-sport bikes (handlebar or triple clamp mounts)
